It is impossible to speak of the history of Fiat Lux without invoking the history of Right Worshipful Brother Doctor Victor A. Adegbite, [1925-2014]. This remarkable man was both an operative as well as speculative architect. An extensive history of his life may be found in the link below, but needless to say it was his inspiration as well as determination that allowed us to have the lodge we have today.

The lodge itself was chartered in 2001, as a result of both the adoption of a more traditional—and historically accurate—attitude towards Masonic ritual by the Grand Lodge of DC, and the fervent desire amongst Brother Adegbite and other beloved brothers to create an English lodge in our jurisdiction, the better to demonstrate the universality of Masonry.
